Your healing journey begins from the moment you step through our door, and leave the rat race behind. When you enter our Crystal Lake acupuncture clinic, you are transported to a place of healing where all your senses are soothed from the sound of calming music, to the vision of our mystical fountain, all the way to the feel of our plush, heated beds against your tired body in one of our private treatment rooms. Your mind, body and spirit are all calmed and healed each time you come in for a treatment.
Our Approach to Acupuncture
Most acupuncture clinics treat the area of pain directly. This means they insert needles directly into the parts of the body where the pain is most severe. The practitioners at Nature's Balance Acupuncture believe that this "adds insult to injury" and may even possibly further aggravate the painful condition.
Instead of inserting needles at the site of the pain, the practitioners at Nature's Balance Acupuncture use a 2,500 year old method of acupuncture based upon the "I Ching" or "The Book of Changes" called "The Balance Method". With this method, typically only the acupuncture points found on the scalp and ears, on the arms from the elbows to the fingers, and on the legs from the knees to the toes are used. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the points found in these areas are considered to be the strongest of all 2,000+ points found on the body.
Because of the strength of these points and the way in which they are utilized, the results achieved are amazing, with pain relief often occurring within seconds. Over a series of treatments, long lasting relief can be achieved approximately 80% of the time.
An added benefit to this form of treatment is that the patient never has to take off their clothes. This results in efficient and relaxing treatments that are extremely effective. Learn more about how acupuncture works and how acupuncture can help you.
Extensive Training in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine
In order to become proficient in this method of treatment, the practitioners at Nature's Balance Acupuncture have received extensive post-graduate training from the master in "The Balance Method", Dr. Richard Teh-Fu Tan. Because of their dedication to being masters of this treatment method, they continue to travel across the globe attending lectures and seminars presented by Dr. Tan.
Our team of experts is committed to giving you the most effective treatment possible each time you come into our office. As such, our treatments are not cookie cutter in nature and are customized to meet your body's specific needs each time you come into our office. In Chinese Medicine, the pulse is the window into the condition of your body. We use the pulse extensively to help us customize the exact treatment you need at the time and we reevaluate the pulse before leaving the room to validate that the treatment has achieved the desired outcome.
In the State of Illinois, providers of acupuncture can have as little as 100 hours of training. Those that do "dry needling", which is often confused with acupuncture, can have even less training. All acupuncturists at Nature's Balance are nationally board certified with a minimum of 3 years of education (1,905 hours) in Oriental Medicine, acupuncture theory, biomedicine, communications, ethics and practice management. In addition, all our acupuncturists spend a minimum of 660 hours working in a supervised clinic treating patients before they begin their advanced training in The Balance Method.
Our Health and Wellness Education Programs
The final differentiating factor is our commitment to educating the community on health and wellness topics. We are a member of a non-for-profit organization, The Foundation for Wellness Professionals, where our goal is to educate the community on natural solutions to healthcare problems. We offer FREE lectures to various groups and organizations such as the Crystal Lake Park District, Health Bridge Fitness Center, book clubs, mom's groups, church groups, and even businesses such as Centegra Health Systems and McHenry County College. We offer a wide variety of lectures such as managing stress, dealing with arthritis and pain, improving athletic performance, improving fertility, balancing women's hormones, losing weight, resolving digestive disorders, as well as tips on how to improve your physical appearance and look 10 years younger. We are willing and eager to offer one of our lectures to any group of people who are interested in learning more about health and wellness.
Testimonials from our Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Patients
I am middle-age, average weight, and in good physical condition. There is degeneration in the lower spine; L4-L5 discs. Some scoliosis is present. The back became problematic twelve years ago. I truly believe that it was because of your treatments that I was able to make it through both the fall and winter without any back incidents. I travel twenty-five miles to be treated, and consider it well worth it. Results are due to your expert technique in acupuncture. I find you knowledgeable, informative, and patient with any questions asked. I feel well cared for and confident that I am receiving the
gold-standard in acupuncture care. — Art, Rockford, IL
