Janine Jozwiak

Owner & Clinical Director
Licensed Acupuncturist, Diplomate in Acupuncture

Janine’s mission is to help as many people as possible achieve optimum health. Not only does that mean helping people avoid disease, but also educating her patients and the community about proactive wellness so they can, in turn, educate others. As the owner of the wellness clinic, she brings together the best practitioners and therapies under one roof to help her patients achieve their health goals in the most expedient and cost effective manner possible.

Janine earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Psychology from Loyola University and a Master of Science degree in Counseling from George Williams College. She spent several years in private practice providing individual counseling to children and adults.

Janine left the health care field for a period of time during which she was an IT Project Director at Sears, Roebuck and Company. During this time, she directed a team of 20 project managers and the Quality Assurance organization accountable for successfully delivering an $85 million portfolio of projects for Home Services and Corporate Systems.

As a Project Director at Sears, Janine utilized her understanding of people to help them reach their highest personal potential while delivering impressive results for the company.

In 2002, Janine returned to the health care field and earned a Masters in Acupuncture from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine. During this three year, 2,000+ hour, intensive program, Janine learned Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), pathology, diagnosis, and treatment strategy. In addition to the Chinese Medicine coursework, the curriculum provided a solid foundation in needle technique, traditional accessory modalities and the Western sciences such as anatomy, physiology, neurology and pharmacology. Janine also spent over 600 hours in the Midwest College’s student clinics. In the clinics, Janine was able to gain invaluable experience treating a wide range of medical conditions. While building her knowledge and skills, Janine was also able to fine-tune her patient/healer sensitivities.

Janine graduated from the Midwest College program Summa Cum Laude and immediately passed the National Board exam and became a licensed Acupuncturist in the State of Illinois.

In July 2007, Janine opened Nature’s Balance Acupuncture and Wellness Center in Crystal Lake, Illinois with a mission to help as many people as possible in their quest for optimum health. With a mission that could positively impact so many people, the clinic grew rapidly. With over 3,000 patients, Nature’s Balance has a vast amount of experience in the practice of Chinese Medicine and its use to fight the effects of the illnesses so prevalent in our society today.

Janine has received extensive training from a Master in a 2,500 year old method of acupuncture called “The Balance Method.” This method uses the strongest of all 2,000+ points found on the body in order to achieve amazing results. Pain relief often occurs within seconds. Over a series of treatments, long lasting relief can be achieved approximately 80% of the time.

Janine is certified in the Kalish Method by the Kalish Institute of Functional Medicine, with special emphasis on treating adrenal and female hormone issues as well as digestive concerns. She also has advanced training in functional blood chemistry analysis, Sports Medicine, nutrition, stress reduction techniques, and therapies such as PSYCH-K®, that identify and help change subconscious beliefs that may be limiting the full expression of one’s potential in life. Lastly, Janine is a Reiki Master and is trained in the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu.

Janine lives in Woodstock and enjoys the company of her cat, Squirt. In order to maintain her own health and vitality, she has a daily yoga and meditation practice, exercises regularly either with HIIT or weight training and, in her spare time, likes to garden, rollerblade, bike, hike and photograph wildlife and nature.

Lower Back Pain

I am middle-age, average weight, and in good physical condition. There is degeneration in the lower spine; L4-L5 discs. Some scoliosis is present. The back became problematic twelve years ago. I truly believe that it was because of your treatments that I was able to make it through both the fall and winter without any back incidents.I travel twenty-five miles to be treated, and consider it well worth it. Results are due to your expert technique in acupuncture. I find you knowledgeable, informative, and patient with any questions asked. I feel well cared for and confident that I am receiving the gold-standard in acupuncture care.
